About the role
We are looking for a qualified Specialist Mentor who has the ability to support, motivate and encourage students to develop and achieve their full potential. Ideally you will have experience in higher education establishment as you would be required to work mainly within colleges and universities. You will have the ability to be sensitive to students’ needs and should have an interest in and understanding of additional support needs.
Freelance, Flexible hours
Main duties and responsibilities of the role
•Provide one to one Specialist Mentoring to students enabling them to develop within their higher education.
•To provide bespoke sessions for each student according to the needs of the individual student.
•Deliver mentoring according to Clarion guidelines and code of conduct.
•A flexible approach to working hours is required.
•Manage paperwork effectively, i.e. completing time sheets and Individual Learning Plans.
•You will be expected to represent Clarion in a professional manner, this includes adhering to our policies regarding confidentiality and safeguarding
Skills, Knowledge & Experience required
•Able to assess learner’s needs and devise an appropriate Individual Learning Plan
•Understands the needs, objectives and constraints of others.
•Hold Membership to at least one of the following professional bodies;
•Association of child Psychotherapists
•BACP individual or MBACP
•British Psychoanalytic Council – under a member institution
•British Psychological Society Chartered Member (CPsychol)/IAPT register/Graduate Member(MBPsS) AND also PG qualification in psychology or mental health
•COSCA accredited member
•General Medical Council (GMC) – Psychiatry
•Health and Care professions Council (HCPC) (Arts Therapist/Occupational Therapist/ Practitioner Psychologist/Social Worker in England)
•IACP accredited Member
•National Counselling Society (Senior Accredited Member or Above)
•Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) – Mental Health Nurse/Community Health Nurse/Psychiatric Nurse
•Social Worker body for Scotland SSSC/ Wales CCWales/ NI (NISCC)
•UKCP full clinical individual member
