Using Video Remote Interpreting at Work
Here at Clarion, we are very excited to announce our brand new service Video Remote Interpreting. It is a fantastic, cost effective way to break down communication barriers in day-to- day work situations. If you are Deaf and receiving Access to Work, Video Remote Interpreting can make your budget go further.
How would it benefit me?
We all know that meetings and phone calls crop up without much notice in the working world today. Now with the new VRI service, there is no need to postpone or reschedule meetings based on your interpreter’s hours; instead, you can have a virtual interpreter with you at the click of a button.
If you receive Access to Work support, this could be a cost-effective way to manage your personal budget. Instead of the standard 3 hour minimum booking for a face-to-face interpreter, the VRI has a pay-per-minute rate giving you real value for money for those short meetings and phone calls.
How does it work?
You need a PC, laptop or tablet with a webcam and microphone and access to the internet. Contact Beth to set up an account with ourselves then you are ready to access our team of registered, experienced interpreters based here at Head Office, backed up by a team of remote interpreters around the UK that can accommodate regional dialects of BSL.
Don’t worry if the technical side is not your strong point, our specialized team of interpreters will be there to guide
Using VRI for meetings
Our VRI system uses a secure internet connection, so all meetings are confidential and no record is kept of your conversation.
